By Car - please contact us for route maps and when booking ferries as we may be able to assist with the best deals. The A20 from Paris, make your way to the N.89 towards Perigueux and turn in either on the D.65 or D67 to Auriac du Périgord and under the arch in the village, follow the signs on the right to 'Chantegrel' By Air - we are just over one hours drive from Limoges and Bergerac and 2 from Rodez, Toulouse, Carcasonne, and Bordeaux. Further Information Families with toddlers and babies - We can provide high chairs, travel cots, and baby baths so that you do not have to bring these with you. We are within the 'golden triangle' of the 'Dordogne' close to all the major attractions, which are too many to mention, however this is a flavour, please contact us and we would be happy to help with an itinerary to suit your needs. History - the area around 'Chantegrel' is of particular significance. Starting with Cro-Magnon man who left his mark from 25,000 years ago in the most remarkable cave paintings at Lascaux II in Montignac (4km). The dominating cliff face at La Roque Saint- Christophe(15km) which boast permanent cave dwellings from Cro-Magnon to 1588. The 100 years war and Templar Knights gave rise to the 1000 castles of the Dordogne, which include the imposing sites at Domme(30km) and Beynac(30 km). Sarlat for the Cathedral town and Les Eyzies for the pre-history museum (both 25km) are very popular. These areas cater for serious historians to the curious and families wishing an entertaining day out. Gastronomy - food lovers from all over the world come to the area, however the French have it at their hearts, for the truffles, fois gras, cèpes and canard. The local Bergerac wine is very good. Leisure activities abound, from tennis in the village to canoeing, horse riding, golf, fishing, cycling and many diverse walks that take in quality restaurants for all occasions.
